Durham, NC – The Southern Vision Alliance (SVA) recently concluded a sold-out transformative three-day Southern Summit in Durham, NC, uniting passionate organizers and activists from across the country in a decisive call to action against the rising threats of fascism, white supremacy, authoritarianism and crucial social justice topics. This landmark event marked the beginning of a larger, critical conversation and organizing effort aimed at advancing justice, equality, and civil liberties throughout the South and beyond.

Held in the heart of the South, the summit provided a platform for dialogue and strategy centered around pivotal themes including: reproductive and gender justice, defeating fascism, and ensuring safety within civil rights.The summit also featured compelling conversations on the rise of fascism and authoritarian ideologies. Speakers and activists tackled the growing influence of political extremism and white nationalism, exploring strategies to combat these threats. Through dynamic discussions and workshops, participants delved into grassroots organizing, political education, and coalition-building efforts crucial for defending democratic values and human rights in the face of escalating authoritarianism.
