This summer, Director of SVA’s Disaster Recovery and Resilience Network, Anita Cunningham joined the White House Council of Environment Justice Advisory Committee. Membership is by presidential appointment and it is charged with providing recommendations on how to address current and historic environmental injustice to the White House Environmental Justice Interagency Council (IAC) and the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).
Anita’s organizing campaigns for climate-related environmental issues and legacy pollution situated her to be a strong advocate for the issues faced in the South. Congratulations Anita!
