addison evans (Pronouns: they/them/theirs)
I’m addison a. evans, and my pronouns are they/them/theirs. I’m a disabled Black, trans, and agender UU socialist whose life goal is to achieve bodily autonomy for all people. I believe that achieving this will open up so many possibilities for everyone and allow us to create and live in a more just and equitable society. I’m an avid traveller and love to explore new places, but I’m a Southerner through and through. Ice cream is the best dessert, and no one does sweet tea, lemonade, and biscuits better than the South.
I got my start in organizing by working on a campaign for gender non-specific housing on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while I was a student. From there, I went on to work on the campaign against Amendment 1 in NC and the fight against HB2. I eventually landed a job at the North Carolina state table, where I was introduced to progressive tech and fell in love with using my technological and logistical skills for social change. I’ve been working in this field ever since and want to continue to use my skills to build power in our communities.

Bex Randel (Pronouns: They/Them/Theirs)
Bex Randel has worked in Human Resources for the past 15 years, primarily within health and human services organizations. They identify as a queer, neurodivergent individual and bring a deep commitment to advancing social justice in both their professional work and personal life. Throughout their career, Bex has been especially passionate about supporting communities that are often under-supported and underserved because of their identities. They are particularly dedicated to efforts that empower and uplift people who identify as queer or BIPOC, and they remain committed to challenging systems rooted in white supremacy culture, patriarchal power dynamics, and capitalism.
Outside of their primary work, Bex is also a professional life coach and career consultant, and finds joy in helping others discover meaningful work and financial freedom through careers that align with their values and passions. In their free time, Bex enjoys spending time with their three dogs (Naomi Marie, Hazel Louise, and Olive Rose) gardening, reading, and learning about the lived experiences of others.
Bex is SVA’s new Director of Human Resources.
Irving Allen (Pronouns: he/him/his)
Irving David Allen is a lifelong North Carolinian, a father of three daughters, and a community organizer dedicated to building a more equitable Greensboro. He comes from a legacy of civil rights leadership. A graduate of James Benson Dudley Senior High School who studied political science at North Carolina A&T State University, Irving has spent more than 13 years organizing in Greensboro, across North Carolina, and nationally. He has worked with organizations such as The Beloved Community Center, Color Of Change, Democracy NC, and Ignite NC to build coalitions and elevate community voices.
In Greensboro, he helped organize the creation of the Greensboro Criminal Justice Advisory Committee, co-founded the Black Lives Matter Gate City chapter, and launched Books and Black Youth to promote literacy and opportunity for young people. In 2025, he was elected to serve as an at-large member of the Greensboro City Council, where he continues his work tostrengthen neighborhoods and expand opportunity.
