Creating Cultural Learning Spaces for Black Youth in North Carolina

#BlackSELSummit 2022

The Black SEL Summit looks to reach, teach and build a system of strong black leaders that understand the importance of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) and ways to expose and sustain SEL in black communities. The 2nd Annual Black SEL Summit will highlight and elevate educators and voices of African American people in the SEL field.

We want to create healthy dialogue around policy, critical race theory, and ways to expose social-emotional learning to surrounding communities and their key stakeholders. Social- Emotional Learning will not be a trend in the black communities but yet, we will make this a sustainable tool to advance and heal us one community at a time.

#NoCap

We are NoCap! We are kicking off our annual HBCU Fellowship Cohort for the year of 2022, and we would like to share this opportunity with you and any network of students you may know! We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. This is a paid opportunity open to youth 18-30 who may not be in school.

NoCap is a region-wide, youth-led organization supporting young, Black people to build our political power. Our work is focused on North Carolina’s historically Black college and university (HBCU) campuses, and we’re accountable to our communities across the state and the US South.

We build our base year-round through racial and economic justice campaigns and civic engagement. We build leadership and personal development by meeting our people where they are using innovative cultural and community approaches. We’re committed to ensuring that our staff, fellows, and members have the tools that they need to be lifelong organizers and leaders in our communities.

If you have questions or would like to know more about us, please schedule a short meeting to chat via https://calendly.com/nocapkylah/nocap-info-meeting.
